Richard A. Smith

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 2, 2012, Richard Alvin Smith, husband of Aicha Smith of Hanahan, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Alvin Smith are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 10:30 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road on Monday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm.

Mr. Smith was born on November 14, 1943 in Tucson, AZ the son of Angus T. Smith and Marcia Ward Smith. He was a US Navy veteran consultant in Civil Service and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Aicha Smith of Hanahan, SC; mother, Marcia Smith of Folly Beach, SC; daughter, Lisa Delamater of Manassas, VA; two brothers, Angus Smith of Folly Beach, SC and Timothy Smith of James Island, SC; two sisters, Sandra Hickman of Folly Beach, SC and Jean Smith of James Island, SC; and one grandson, Christopher Delamater. He was preceded in death by his father, Angus T. Smith.
