Richard William Reed, PhD, 86, husband of Elizabeth Rowland Reed of Daniel Island, SC passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010.  Services will be private.   ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.  Mr. Reed was born September 22, 1923 in Davenport, Iowa, son of the late Lawrence Reed and Madge Dritt Reed.  He graduated from Oberlin College and received his PhD from Clark University. He also served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired investment banker with Merrill Lynch. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth V. Reed of Daniel Island, SC; five children, three step-children and eight grandchildren.
