Richard Ray Meade

Richard Ray Meade, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Carol Ann DeAntonio Meade entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 12, 2018. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, South Carolina at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at a later date in Ohio. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Richard was born April 10, 1941 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late Richard Harrison Meade and Helen Griffith Meade. He was very active in the London, Ohio community and an avid fisherman in Charleston, South Carolina. He attended The Citadel where he played basketball. He was Past President of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce in London, Ohio. He was a Real Estate Broker and businessman for many years and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. .

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Ann DeAntonio Meade of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Jay Meade (Patty) of Aiken, SC; son Scott Meade (Suzanne) of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren Timothy, Michael, Sven and Sydney Meade, Jordan and Hannah Guthrie; great-grandchildren Olivia R. Guthrie and Grayson Meade; brothers-in-law Gene Blanchard (June) of Sullivan's Island and Tony Solesbee of Inman, SC; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Lisa Meade Guthrie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ted and Patty Zorn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Vergie DeAntonio; brother-in-law Joe DeAntonio, Jr.; and sister-in-law Joan DeAntonio Solesbee.
