Richard "Dik" Stoddard Lasnier

Richard "Dik" Stoddard Lasnier, 79, of Ravenel, South Carolina, beloved husband of Carol Lasnier, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024. 

Dik was born March 14, 1945 in Bristol, Connecticut, son of the late Eleanor Mary Wininger Lasnier and Paul Henry Lasnier He was a graduate of Bristol Central High School, Bristol, CT, class of 1963. He attended Appalachian State Teachers College in Boone, NC in 1964. Dik was the owner of Connecticut Testing Co. Inc. in Canton, CT, where he did laboratory designing and tested concrete mixes. He also worked for Partitions Inc. in Newington, CT, where he worked on product presentation and demonstrations. He was the Vice President and Project Manager in Sales and Marketing at Fabricated Wall Systems, Inc. in Bloomfield, CT. As well as being the New York Sales Representative for Old Castle Recast in Avon, CT.

Dik was married to Carol for 54 years. For many years they enjoyed their beach house in Charlestown, RI. They also loved riding their Appaloosa/ Quarter horse, Dakota Gold, and competing in horse shows.

After retirement they moved to Ravenel, SC to explore the Charleston area.

Dik continued his riding on Dee Oh Gee, a Percheron/Quarter , and together they earned the Dressage Foundation prestigious "Century Club Team" award. 

Dik hardly ever let a day go by without leaving laughs and smiles behind him.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Lasnier, and his Old English Sheepdog, Sophie.
