Richard Wesley Dunn, Jr., 68, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Lynn Cockfield Dunn entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 23, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Grace Church Cathedral, 98 Wentworth Street at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 6:30 p.m.
Rick was born December 13, 1947 in Lakewood, Ohio, son of the late Richard Wesley Dunn and Dorothy White Dunn. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and was a retired public school art teacher. He was the former owner of 1837 Bed and Breakfast in Charleston. He was a member of Grace Church Cathedral, Charleston Yacht Club, and James Island Yacht Club. Rick was an avid surfer and sailor, with a quick wit. He loved and lived life to its fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Cockfield Dunn of Charleston, SC; two sons, Richard Wyatt Dunn of Pensacola, FL and Merrick Weaver Dunn of Charleston, SC; his daughter, Olivia French Dunn of Charleston, SC; and his sister, Virginia (Dennis) Dunn Strempel of Charleston, SC.
