Richard Glenn Davis

September 11, 1937 — June 7, 2018

Reverend Richard Glenn Davis, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of June Elizabeth Shiels Davis, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 7, 2018. His Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive, Charleston, SC at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Glenn was born September 11, 1937 in Sumter, South Carolina, son of the late Richard Glover Davis and Hazel Werner Davis. He served in the United States Air Force and owned Davis Shoe Shop for 28 years in Walterboro prior to accepting the call to ministry. Reverend Davis served numerous Methodist churches in SC and is the current minister of Ravenel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, June Elizabeth Shiels Davis of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Linda D. Owen (Stephen) of Pisgah Forest, NC, and Debbie D. Ray (David) of Summerville, SC; two sons, Mark Thorburn Davis (Leslie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Richard Glenn Davis, Jr., (Cindy) of Charleston, SC; three sisters, Bunny Davis, Teresa Davis, Annette Bradley all of Walterboro, SC; three brothers, Donald Davis of Walterboro, SC, Gary Davis of Mt. Airey, NC, and Daniel Davis of Walterboro, SC; ten grandchildren, Shane, Gayla, Cara, Connor, Casey, Greyson, Dustin, Lee, Caleb, and Noah; and one great-grandchild, Addyson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ravenel United Methodist Church, C/O: G. Sistare, 21 Dolmane Drive, Charleston, SC 29407 or The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Riverdale Drive, Charleston, SC.
