Richard Cooper

Richard Cooper, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Grace Elizabeth Caddin Cooper, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 22, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel,  at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
 
Richard was born December 8, 1939 in North, South Carolina, a son of the late Milton Cooper and the late Polly Bolin Cooper.  He was the last survivor of 14 siblings.  He served 6 months active duty in the Army and then 6 years in the National Guard.  He retired after 34 years as a supervisor for Coca-Cola Consolidated.  He was a member of Charleston Baptist Church.  Richard loved to fish and play cards.  His favorite baseball team was the Atlanta Braves.  What he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  
 
Along with his wife, of 62 years, he is survived by his son, Richard Lamar Cooper(Shanie), of Moncks Corner, SC; his daughter, Connie Birr(Dennis), of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren Adam Birr(Valerie), Ashley Kirkland(Jonathan), Carter Childers, and Annelise Childers; and four great-grandchildren:  Emily, Katie, and Julia Birr, and Matthew Kirkland.
