Richard Maxwell Bomar, 64, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Terri Gelegotis Bomar entered into eternal rest Monday, January 29, 2018. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:30 p.m.
Richard was born April 9, 1953 in Greenville, South Carolina, son of the late Maxwell Bomar and Maude Fowler Bomar. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and continued his interest in science as a Chemical Analyst at General Engineering Labs. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He was also passionate about playing the sport of Judo in which he earned a black belt and won numerous competitions. Richard was a talented sculptor and carver and attended many Wildlife Expos where he presented his art.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Terri Bomar; two sons, Dr. Paul A. Bomar, Richard Elliott Bomar; sister, Gail Shaffer and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
