Richard Dominic Apostolico, 54, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Diana Apostolico the love of his life and wife of twenty-four years, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 10, 2023. His wake will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist at 11:00 am, and rite of committal will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Richard was born April 5, 1969 in Sleepy Hollow, New York, son of Richard Anthony Apostolico and Piroska Apostolico. Devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. Retired US Marine Corps Captain who honorably served our country for 7 years. Richard worked for the Department of Homeland Security for 21 years, as a Scheduling Operations Officer for the TSA. Richards love for aviation first started in 1987, he enjoyed flying as a hobby. Richard graduated from Ossining High School (Ossining, NY) in 1987, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from the Florida Institute of Technology (Melbourne, FL) in 1996.
In addition to his wife and parents, Richard is survived by his son, Vince Gabriel Apostolico; daughter, Emily Isabella Apostolico; sisters, Nina (Cliff) Khaghan, Cathryn (Thomas) Maraziti, and Irma (Bruce) Barr; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved fur babies, Bella, Tookie, and Whiskers.
