Renelda "Nell" Shockley Hayes

Renelda Shockley Hayes, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, April 17, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 pm. Burial services will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00. pm.

Nell was born January 21, 1926 in Bethera, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph L. Shockley and the late Letha Bishop Shockley. She was a retired executive secretary for over 38 years with the South Carolina Ports Authority. She was also a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela H. Ozmore of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Linda H. Cable (Michael) of Summerville, SC; son, Jerry Hayes (Mary) of Hilton Head, SC; three grandchildren, Bryce Hayes, Ryan Hayes and Quinton Cable; many nieces and nephews to include Chris McLaurin and also a sister-in-law, Caroline Shockley and her family of Warrenville, SC . She is predeceased in death by five brothers and sisters.
