Regina Nicely Taylor, 84, of North Charleston, SC, widow of William A. Taylor, Jr., entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 22, 2012. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 24, 2012 in Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, 4602 Durant Avenue, at 10:00 am. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church Monday one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Taylor was born November 9, 1928 in Covington, Virginia, one of four daughters of the late Clarence B. Nicely and Virginia Duncan Nicely. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and was a retired secretary for the Charleston Naval Shipyard. She also taught kindergarten and was the secretary at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church for a number of years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy McKenna (Willis) of North Charleston and Joyce T. King (Rodger D.) of Columbus, GA; a son, William A. Taylor III of Beaufort, SC; four grandchildren, Regina Bauer (Sean), Shellie McKee (Justin), Katherine Ford (Joey) and Matthew Hinman; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters, Aileen N. Tiller, Jerry N. Haynes and Shirley N. Kennerty.
