Patte, Rebecca Wilson Price, 79, of Charleston, SC died in Lexington, SC, October 10, 2016, of complications from pneumonia. Wife of 43 years of Maj. Gen. (Ret), US Army, Christian Patte. Daughter of the late Dr. Julian Price and Clara Price of Florence, South Carolina. She is survived by daughter, Amy Patte of Charleston; sons, Edward Patte (Rev. Beth Patton) and grandsons, Benjamin Patte and Joshua Patte of Milwaukee, WI; and Christian Patte (Cassie Bryant) and grandchildren, Price Patte, Ella Patte, Charlee Patte of Oldsmar, FL; and brothers, Dr. Thomas Price of Greensboro, NC (Flora Price) and Julian Price of Florence, SC.

She was born in Florence, SC on June 27, 1937 and graduated in 1955 from McClenaghan High School. She attended Queens College in Charlotte, NC as a mathematics major and graduated in 1959 with a BA in Education. She taught elementary school from 1959-1961 in Atlanta, GA. On December 16, 1961, she married, then Captain, Christian Patte and began the life of an Army spouse. She nurtured a family of five through the vagabond life of a 33-year Army career that included over 20 moves to a variety of postings that included Birmingham, AL, Fort Campbell, KY, Orleans, France, Florence, SC, Fort Leavenworth, KS, Springfield, VA, Hanau, Germany, Newport, RI, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, Mannheim, Germany, Stuttgart, Germany, Paris, France, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Heidelberg, Germany, Tampa, FL and Brussels, Belgium. She and her husband Chris retired to Charleston, SC in 1997. She served for twenty years as a volunteer docent for the Historic Charleston Foundation and volunteered for the Charleston Garden Club. She was an active member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church serving on the board of Deacons, providing food for the Habitat for Humanity volunteers, coordinating the Lenten luncheon, serving as an usher at Sunday services and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Koinonia, Women of the Church, and Hands of Christ. In 2003, for her many years of faithful service, she was presented with an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women. She was much loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be Friday, October 21, 2016 from five o'clock until seven o'clock p.m. at the family's home in Charleston, SC. Memorial Services will be held in First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11o'clock a.m. with a reception following. Entombment services will be private in Grace Church Cathedral Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be sent to the Local Mission Fund, First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29401.
