Rebecca (Becky) Williams Hayward, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, with her beloved husband by her side.
Born on November 5, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, Becky was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Victor Hayward Jr.; daughter, Heather Hayward Stanley (Jesse); and grandsons, Austin Jessup and Landon Stanley. She is also survived by her brothers, Donnie Williams (Debra) and Michael Williams (Catherine); and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Becky was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.
Becky spent her early years in Mt. Pleasant and later lived in Florida before returning to her hometown during high school. She built a respected career as a mortgage loan officer, known for her dedication and integrity. Colleagues and clients alike sought her out-not just for her skill, but for her infectious humor and magnetic personality.
A natural-born comedian, Becky was the life of every gathering. She never met a stranger, loved a good laugh, and brought her signature wit to every conversation. Her joy for life shone brightest during family celebrations, fishing trips, costume parties, and girl getaways. She had a well-known affinity for convertible sports cars, a tendency to change houses like socks, and an unbeatable knack for winning (or stealing) the best white elephant gift at Christmas.
Becky's "home cooked" meals always tasted suspiciously like Sea Island Piggly Wiggly hot bar but she assured us regularly and reminded us they were, after all, served in her dishes. Becky’s humor and quick wit was her trademark-and her gift to all who knew her, and she will be forever incredibly missed.
A celebration of Becky's life will be held at Stuhr Funeral Home, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 12:00 PM.
Becky’s spirit lives on in every laugh shared around a kitchen table, every outrageous holiday gift exchange, and every road trip with the top down and music up. She taught us to live joyfully, love fully, and never pass up a chance to make others laugh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate, or the Charleston Animal Society https://charlestonanimalsociety.org/donate/
