Rebecca "Lynn" Thompson Carroll, 64, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Robert E. Carroll, Jr., entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 20, 2019. Her Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 in St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Hwy at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Lynn was born August 1, 1955 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert Earl Thompson, Jr., and Elaine Peterson Thompson. She was a graduate of Sea Island Academy class of 1973 and a graduate of Winthrop University where she received her undergraduate and MBA degrees in the class of 1977. After graduating from college, she worked in Charlotte and then at Wells Automotive in Whiteville, NC in financial services. She then enjoyed a career as a flight attendant with US Air and US Airways retiring after 20 years.
After living many years in Wilmington, NC, she returned to her beloved Johns Island, SC. Lynn was vivacious, happy, bubbly and a wonderful, faithful, caring friend. She was an active member of St. John's Parish Church where she devoted her time to the Ladies of Cheer ministry and the Bible Babes Class.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E Carroll, Jr. of Johns Island, SC; sister, Cathy Hampton (Craig) of Franklin, TN; nieces, Katie Sanders, Amy Thompson, and Ashley Flood; nephews, Travis Hampton and Justin Hampton and her beloved dog Marley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Phil Thompson.
