Rebecca Player Bonner

January 22, 1957 — May 29, 2010

Nancy Rebecca Player Bonner, wife of Robert Cunningham Bonner, died May 29, 2010, in Charleston, SC.  Born January 22, 1957, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Orville Van Player, Jr. and Nancy Deas Player.


Becky was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and had worked as a respiratory therapist at Roper Hospital. She was a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church where she presently was a kindergarten teacher.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children:  Nancy Logan Bonner, William Heyward Bonner, Rebecca Elizabeth Bonner, all of Charleston; bothers:  Orville Van Player III (Judy) of Greenville, Warren Thomas Player (Polly) of Mt. Pleasant, Spencer McGill Player (Jane) of Lake City; aunt Emily Deas Rhoden of Columbia; and nieces, nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be at 12:00 on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, May 31st between 6 to 8 PM at the home of her brother, Warren Player, 10 Pierates Cruze, Mt. Pleasant.


Memorials may be made to The Building Fund, First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
