Reace "Russ" Rucker, 79, of Charleston, and Edisto Beach, South Carolina, husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Flake Rucker entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 9, 2014. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., West Ashley CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Reace was born July 20, 1934 in Statesboro, Georgia, son of the late Frank Rucker and Lois Bunch Rucker. He was retired from Wetterau Foods. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Rucker; a special niece, Julie Ahlers; grand-niece, Lacey Ahlers; 2 brothers, Ralph Thompson, and Edward Thompson; 4 sisters, Dorothy Sussman, Hilda Chance, Daisy Waltz, and Ruth Carter; sister-in-law, Jewell Brown; brother-in-law, George Flake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old St. Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414 or to a charity of one's choice.
