Entered into eternal rest on the evening of July 7, 2012, Raymond Douglas White, husband of Clariece Joyce White. Residence, Johns Island, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond White are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, July 9, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Born January 13, 1945 in Charleston, SC, Raymond was the son of the late Raymond D. White and the late Margaret Singletary White. He was a Commercial Fisherman, and he owned and operated White's Live Crabs. In 2009, Raymond was inducted into the State Museum Fishing Hall of Fame and will be sadly missed by the SCDNR.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Dianna L. Hughes of Hermitage, TN, and Patricia A. McGuire (Guy) of Goose Creek, SC; one step-son, Lloyd L. Phelps Jr. (Denisha)of Auburn, WA; four step-daughters, Susan J. Aleshire (Norman) of Joplin, MO, Lila LeAnn Ayers (Terry) of Ewing, VA, Mary Marie Hensley (Roger) of Ewing, VA, and Karen Diane Hensley (Robert) of Pathfork, KY; three sisters, Betty J. McElveen of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Margaret Ann Greenberg of Charleston, SC and Linda J. Macaw of Maitland, FL; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
