CMSgt. Raymond David Rehrig, USAF Ret., 84, of Ladson, SC, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. His funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow with military honors at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Raymond was born July 18, 1932 in Schuylkill County, PA, son of the late Raymond H. Rehrig and the late Katie E. Nunemacher Rehrig. During his long military career he served as crew chief on Air Force One during the Nixon Administration. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a Baptist in faith. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife of 62 1/2 years, Rebecca Rehrig; two sons, Timothy Rehrig of Moncks Corner, SC and Barry Rehrig of Sarona, WI; daughter, Pamela Rehrig of Ladson, SC; sister, Betty Tonelis of Allentown, PA; brothers, James Rehrig of PA and Larry Rehrig of Slatington, PA; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Rylan. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael David Rehrig.
