Raymond David Porter

Raymond David Porter III, age 64, of Conway, SC, entered peaceful rest with his family by his side on April 8th, 2016 in Charleston, SC.
Born on May 9, 1951 in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of the late Raymond David Porter, Jr. and Eileen Cuccias Porter. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Lois, his loving daughter Sharon Porter of Brooklyn, NY and his loving daughter and son-in-law Jenna and Andrew Ritting of Geneva, NY. He was also the beloved brother to Michele Decea, Kathleen Norjean and David Porter.
Ray was a successful and passionate sales individual in the telecommunications industry. He developed his own business, FlexTel Networks and recently became a Major Account Executive at Time Warner Business. He was dedicated, driven and a positive role model, who always supported his family.
Along with being an accomplished businessman, he had several interests and hobbies that contributed to his life's happiness. Ray especially enjoyed spending his time in or around water. He was a lifeguard at Jones Beach and an avid swimmer, receiving 'All American' honors in the 50m Freestyle swimming event in 1973. When he moved to South Carolina, he was rarely seen outside of the pool or hot tub and loved going to the beach to relax.
Ray was someone that was always smiling, and whose energy lit up a room. A loyal and caring husband and father, nothing was more important to him than family and friends. We are all so lucky to have known him and will miss him greatly.
A funeral service in celebration of Ray's life will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Kingston Presbyterian Church - 800 Third Avenue, Conway, South Carolina, 29526.
