Raymond Joseph "Bud" O'Hara, 101, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Margaret Marie Guggenbuehler O'Hara, died Saturday, March 1, 2014. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at The Palms, 937 Bowman Road, Mt. Pleasant at 1:30 pm. Bud was born December 4, 1912 in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late James J. O'Hara and Helen Kelleher O'Hara. He lived in New Jersey much of his life, and served in England and France with the US Army during World War II, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked for Union Carbide Corporation for 45 years, much of that time in New York City. He was transferred to Florence, SC in 1967 where he worked as Electric Welding Product Manager. Upon retirement, he began a 20 year second career with Richardson Realty, from which he retired at age 86.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; his son, Brian O'Hara and his wife Robbin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Michael Todd O'Hara and Kaitlyn Carothers O'Hara; and two great-grandchildren, Braedon and Chase O'Hara.
