Raymond Alton McCombs

Raymond Alton McCombs, 99, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Irene Kathryn Byers McCombs, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 26, 2025. His Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 in the Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 South Live Oak Drive, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.

Raymond was born February 3, 1926 in Heilwood, Pennsylvania, son of the late Alton McCombs and Ruth Buterbaugh McCombs. Raymond entered the United States Army in 1944 during WWII. He was a charter member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, an active member of the VFW, and member of Masonic Lodge Hammerton 332, A.F.M. In his free time Raymond enjoyed archery and playing golf.

He is survived by his sons, Gary Alton McCombs, Thomas Raymond McCombs; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Lee McCombs.
