Raymond Leo Becude

Raymond Leo Becude, 86, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of the late Thelma Dolores Jackson Becude entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 22, 2018. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service Saturday, September 1, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC at 3:00 p.m.

Raymond was born December 18, 1931 in Charleston, SC, and raised on Nassau Street. He was the son of the late Christean E. Henriksen Becude Belcher and Raymond Leo Becude, Sr. Leo was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a retired electrician with IBEW Local Union 776. Leo formed and was a member of the Islander Shag Club, Charleston Shag Club, Jacksonville Beach Boppers Association, Florida Boppers, Inc., VFW, Rifle Club, Knights of Columbus and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son, Lonnie G. Becude, Sr., (Donna Easterling) of Charleston; a daughter, Lucreita D. Becude and husband John Bevis of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Gloria Becude Shaw of Spring Hill, FL, Josieah Belcher Brundage and husband Jim of Summerville, SC; one brother, Joseph A. Belcher, Jr., and wife Diana of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Lonnie G. Becude, Jr., (Jennifer Lawrence), Christina M. Becude, Dominic A. Lucado and wife Sara, Donald R. Lucado "DJ" (Predeceased) and wife Michelle; seven great-grandchildren, Lonnie "Chip" G. Becude, III., Greyson Reed Becude, Brianna Marie Becude Lucado, Hailey Rayann Becude Lucado, Hunter M. Lucado, Chase M. Lucado, Keenan A. Lucado; a special nephew, Robert J. Jackson, Jr; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Veronica "Ronnie Sue" Becude, Yvonne Becude White and a brother, Alvie "Bubba" Vernon Becude.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Raymond Leo Becude to the Veterans Victory Home, 2461 Sidneys Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
