Raymond H. Anderson

Raymond H. Anderson, 89, of North Charleston, SC, widower of Margaret June Anderson, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 1, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.

Raymond was born December 13, 1924 in Charleston, SC, son of Edward Emile Anderson and Betty Pommer Anderson. Raymond was an Installer/ Repairman for Southern Bell, and a member of the Pioneers. His love resided in coaching small fry baseball at Park Circle, and he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball at his church. He was also a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond H. Anderson, Jr. of North Charleston, SC and Roy Vandegrift III (Carol) of Saluda, SC; daughter, Juanita Vee Vandegrift of Summerville, SC; sister, Adele Rowan of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Renovation Fund, 405 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
