Ray Benjamin Kinard, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Merrile Aruth Martin Kinard entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 11, 2012. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 in Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road at 11:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL. Ray was born June 1, 1926 in Dale, South Carolina, son of Angus Benjamin Kinard and Nettie Frazier DuBois Kinard. He was a veteran with the United States Army and served during World War II and was a retired Insurance Branch Manager with Liberty Life Insurance Company serving almost 45 years. He was a charter member of Pinecrest Baptist Church serving for 20 years as assistant treasurer, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He is survived by his wife, Merrile Kinard of Charleston, SC, son, Raymond David (Melissa) Kinard of Charleston, SC, daughter, Karen Annette Kinard of Charleston, SC, sister, Nettie Kinard Henry of Beaufort, SC, and grandson, Dalton Beasley Kinard of Charleston, SC. He was predeceased by a grandson, Tyler David Kinard. Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
