Ray Roumillat Chapman, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Marie Smith Chapman, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 22, 2021. His private funeral service will be held graveside in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Born October 12, 1933, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a son of the late Ray Wesley Chapman and Lottie Roumillat Chapman. Ray was a proud lifetime member of the VFW Chapter #445 of James Island, West Ashley Outboard Motor Club, and a Free Mason, member of the Jacksonboro # 206. Ray was a Coast Guard veteran who served in the Korean War conflict. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his two sons, Ray W. Chapman and Wayne J. Chapman and his daughter, Sylvia C. Shrock (Jerry), of Charleston, SC, his granddaughter Lauren C. Bauer (Taylor), of Honolulu, HI, and his great-grandson Wesley G. Bauer.
