Ray Terrell Adams, 77, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of Marie Ouellette Adams died Friday, February 2, 2018. His funeral service will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
Born August 14, 1940 in Asheville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Ollie Ray Adams and the late Ann Hughes Adams. Ray was Head of the Cost Accounting Division and retired as the Deputy Comptroller for the Charleston Navy Shipyard. He also retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. He was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Ray took great pride in his family and was happiest when he was taking care of them. He enjoyed woodworking and crafted walking canes.
He is survived by Marie, his wife of 55 years; daughter, Cindy Dyson (Jake) of Hanahan, SC; son, Jeff Adams (Michelle) of Hanahan, SC; seven grandchildren: Adam Austin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Taylor Austin (Lauren) of Goose Creek, SC; Kelsey Austin of Spartanburg, SC; Ansley Adams and Ashtyn Adams, both of Hanahan, SC; Mallory Niller of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Cameron Dyson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-grandchild, Mason Austin of Goose Creek, SC; brother, Gregg C. Adams of Arlington, VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
