Ralph Eugene Smith, 71, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Tina Horner Smith, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 17, 2021. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 in Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street at 11:00 am. A Private Graveside Service will be in Beaufort National Cemetery, with Army Honors. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Ralph was born August 24, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Ashley Hunsucker and the late Betty Croft Groff. Ralph was an Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam as a Cartographer. He graduated from Montgomery College with a degree in Radiology Technology and later retired from the Medical University of South Carolina. Ralph enjoyed cooking, fishing and hunting, but above all, loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Along with his wife of 49 years, he is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Iakovos) Ferderigos of Charleston, SC and Christina (Clif) Driggers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his sister, Melodie Dembs of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Eleni Ferderigos, Melina Ferderigos, and Nathan Driggers.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Smith and Jon Smith; and his step-father, William Groff.
