Ralph Wayne Sides

CPO Ralph Wayne Sides, USN (Ret.), 77, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Joan Roberts Sides passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Ralph was born January 16, 1938 in Dora, Alabama, he was one of six children of Walter Pryor Sides and Violet Viola Carver. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and later retired from civil service as a rigger at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was well liked and known to friends and neighbors as "Mr. Ralph the Roofer."
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan; three daughters, Debbie Roberts (Jeff) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Tina Morris (Gary) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Tara Sides of Hollywood, SC; son, Ralph Sides of Isle of Palms, SC, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
