MSgt Ralph Edward Adair, USAF Ret., 78, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Lucretia Scheler Adair (Kris), entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 1, 2015. His funeral service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015, in the Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University Blvd. at 2:00 pm. Entombment with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. The family is also receiving friends at their home in Northwood Estates.
Born March 18, 1936 in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Charles N. and the late Cora Bell Smith Adair who predeceased him. He was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church, Adult Men's Sunday School Class, retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant after serving for over 20 years, retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard Boilermaker Shop and was employed at Hertz Enterprise.
Mr. Adair is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucretia (Kris), a son, Rory E. Adair and wife Julie of Meggett, SC; daughter-in-law Joyce Kephart Adair of N. Charleston, SC; one grandson Mitch E. Adair of Meggett, SC; two sisters-in-law, Billie Adair of Fountain Inn, SC and Mary Adair of Farmington, LA.
Mr. Adair was predeceased by a son Monty A. Adair; his parents; seven brothers: Calvin, Allen, Ernest, Henry, Carrol, Cecil and Wilfred Adair; two sisters, Sarah Adair Mitchell Simpson and Willie Adair Hughes.
