Radu Moldovan was born on September 11, 1951, in Rosiorii De Vede, Romania, the beloved son of the late Ioan Moldovan and Angela Bleescu Moldovan.

To those who knew him, Radu was a force of nature: brilliant, kind, charismatic, and endlessly wise. He had the gift of storytelling, weaving humor and insight into every tale, turning even the smallest moments into something unforgettable. His mind was a well of knowledge, his heart boundlessly generous. He never hesitated to share, to teach, and to spark curiosity in others. But his wisdom wasn’t just in what he knew, it was in how he lived. He showed us the power of integrity, the strength in perseverance, and the importance of leading with kindness.

Radu was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather, a loyal brother, and a friend to so many. His greatest love was his family.

As a husband, Radu was his wife’s greatest love and unwavering strength, standing beside her through every joy and challenge. His love wasn’t just spoken, it was felt in the quiet moments, in the way he listened, in the laughter they shared, and in the unspoken understanding between them. He had a way of making the simplest moments feel profound, whether through a gentle touch, a knowing glance, or the thoughtful ways he showed he cared. His love was deep, steady, and unconditional. Together, they built a life rich with laughter, resilience, and a bond so profound that not even time could fade it.

As a father, he led with love, always guiding, uplifting, and standing by us. He believed in us, even when we doubted ourselves, and his pride in us was endless. He taught through his actions, showing the value of hard work, resilience, and integrity. No matter how busy life was, he was always there to listen, to encourage, to offer his wisdom, and to make sure we always felt safe, valued, and deeply loved by him.

One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather. His grandchildren were his heart, and he cherished every moment with them, passing down his stories, wisdom, and love, treasures that will stay with them forever. His presence was a source of warmth and guidance, and he took pride in teaching them life’s lessons, both big and small. From playful moments to heartfelt conversations, every memory with him was a blessing, and the love he poured into them will remain a part of them always, shaping their lives in ways even he could never have imagined.

His bond with his brother was just as deep, rooted in a lifetime of shared experiences, loyalty, and an unbreakable connection. From childhood adventures to life’s greatest milestones, they stood by each other, offering strength, wisdom, and an enduring sense of family. No matter where life took them, their bond remained constant, a quiet but powerful presence that time and distance could never weaken.

Radu lived life with passion and purpose. He was an explorer, traveling the world not just to see, but to experience, to learn, and most of all, to share. He could hold a conversation on history, politics, or war just as easily as he could discuss fashion, architecture, or business strategy. A true visionary in his work, he was dedicated to excellence, ensuring the hotels he built and nurtured were nothing short of remarkable. Some might have seen him as tirelessly dedicated to his work, always striving for excellence, always pushing for more. But for him, it was never about titles or achievements, it was about the people who depended on him. Every effort, every late night, every meticulous detail was driven by his deep desire to provide security, comfort, and opportunity for those he loved. His work was a reflection of his devotion, not to success itself, but to ensuring a better life for his family and those who looked up to him.

Above all, Radu was our rock, our fixer, our guide, our unwavering source of wisdom and strength. He taught us the value of hard work and humility, how to navigate life’s trials and triumphs with grace, and how to appreciate both the grand and the simple moments. His presence was larger than life, his laughter unforgettable, his love irreplaceable.

Radu leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom. He is survived by his wife, Mihaela Moldovan, his children Ada, Lavi, Nicole, Diana, his beloved grandchildren Theo, Benji, Vinny, Maxwell, Isaiah, Lindsey, his brother, Mike Moldovan, and many other family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by Angela and Ioan Moldovan.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. We will honor his memory by carrying forward the same curiosity, kindness, and selfless love that he so effortlessly shared with the world.
