Rachel L. Watson Rachel L. Watson, 79, widow of John G. Watson, Jr., US Army retired (Vietnam Veteran) passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at her Charleston residence. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 graveside in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road. The family will receive friends Thursday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Rachel was born December 7, 1937, in Cross Anchor, SC daughter of the late Cora Bell High and Cecil Carlos Johnson of Lyman, SC. She was an army wife, homemaker and an interior designer. Rachel and John embraced military life and traveled over the years. She was previously involved in Women in Construction and was a 50 plus year member of the Eastern Star.
Rachel is survived by two daughters: Teresa Terri Ellis (Russ) of Charleston, SC and Sheila Woodard (Micheal) of Goose Creek, SC; three grandsons: Jonathan McLean Ellis (Tara) and Corey Watson Ellis both of Charleston, SC and Micheal Aulden Woodard, II (Emily) of Moncks Corner, SC; her siblings and their families: Judith Judy Knighton, Joyce Horton (Gene), John Roland Johnson, Carroll Johnson (Deanna), Harold Johnson (Diane), Gail Pruitt (Steve), Karen Ward, and Kenneth Johnson all from upstate SC.
