Rachel Travers Howe, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of James Howe , entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 7, 2013, Cryptside in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Rachel was born May 20, 1918 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Harry Clay Travers and Joy Travers King. She was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed golf. She was a graduate of Memminger High School and Anderson Jr. College. Rachel was a member of Charleston Sertoma Auxiliary and Second Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, James Howe (Carol) of Charleston, SC, two grandsons, William Travers Howe and Edward Main Howe, both of Charleston. Rachel is predeceased by her sister, Joy Travers and her brother, Harry Clay Travers, Jr.
