R. Richard "Dick" Edgar

R. Richard "Dick" Edgar, 86, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of Sandra Stauffer Edgar entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 11, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm, in Cathedral Church, 3790 Ashley Phosphate Road, North Charleston, SC 29418.  The family will receive friends Saturday for one hour prior to the service.  Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485.  Arrangements by J. Richard was born July 25, 1936 in Anderson, South Carolina, son of the late Frank C. Edgar and Grace Snelgrove Edgar.  He was a Minister who dedicated his entire life to serving the Lord.  Richard served in the ministry for over 70 years, ministering in ten different countries around the world.  He attended Reality Church of Goose Creek, where he was affectionately known as "Grandpastor".  He was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and loved to play golf with his son Ric and his friends, even if he was the designated "chipper & putter".  Richard was also a good singer and even won a talent contest in Northern Ireland when he sang, "How Great Thou Art"!  He loved all of his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Ric (Jean) Edgar and Brian Edgar; two daughters, Melissa (Greg) Hargett and Tammie (Skimmer) Loveland; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; three brothers; Ted (Vera) Edgar, Dan (Evelyn) Edgar and Don (Robin) Edgar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Brandon Doo.
