Quillie Clifton Platt, Jr., 76, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Gloria Tanner Platt entered into eternal rest on Tuesday evening, August 30, 2011. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Quillie C. Platt, Jr. are invited to attend his funeral services Friday, September 2, 2011 at Sauldam Baptist Church at 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow at White Church Cemetery in Ravenel. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Thursday afternoon from 6 pm until 8 pm.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina on October 24, 1934, Quillie was the son of the late Quillie Clifton Platt and the late Allie Mae Sigwald Platt. He was a United States Air Force veteran, retired Sheet Metal Worker with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a member of Sauldam Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Gloria Platt of 52 years; two daughters, Helen Platt Keith of Ravenel and Allison Hunter of Fort Stewart, GA; two brothers, Gerald Platt of Ravenel and Bruce Platt of Charleston; a sister, Cheryl Mae Ellis of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
