Purvis LeGrande Hutchinson, 81, of Ladson, SC, husband of Louisa Joyce Hutchinson died Wednesday, January 30, 2019. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service.

LeGrande was born November 30, 1937 in Lake City, SC, son of the late Carl Purvis Hutchinson and the late Annie Mae Baker Hutchinson. He was a US Army Veteran and retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard in Shop 56 as a Shop Planner. Following retirement he became employed at MUSC and retired as a Courier for Pathology. LeGrande traveled every state in the union and every province and Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Louisa Hutchinson of Ladson, SC; son, Carl L. Hutchinson; sister, Jennean Dildine all of North Charleston, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.
