Powell G. Blue, 77, of Charleston, SC, passed away on January 12, 2020. Powell is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard E. Blue and Jahaza B. Blue, and his brother, William E. Blue. He is survived by his wife Sarah Blue, children Powell Blue (Tammy), Matthew Blue (Amanda), and Jessica Blue Cunningham (Chris) and six beloved grandchildren (Zachary, Noah, Graham, Micah, Jackson and Nicholas.)

Powell was a proud graduate of Florida State University and began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta before moving into a long career in advertising. While he thoroughly enjoyed his work, he was happiest when fishing. Whether pole fishing as a boy with his father in Florida, bass fishing in Georgia, or fly fishing in Montana, Alaska or Australia, Powell had a true passion for the sport that was matched only by his passion for sharing stories of his adventures.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 14 at J. Henry Stuhr, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment and a graveside service will be held Friday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery, 23rd Street, Panama City, Florida.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff at Roper Hospital.
