PO1 Fernando R. Ledda, USN (Ret.) 83, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Juanita Balais Ledda died Saturday, February 4, 2017. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.
Fernando was born May 30, 1933 in Manila, Philippines, son of the late Regino Ortiz Ledda and the late Augustina De La Cruz De los reyes Ledda. A graduate of Arellano High School in Manila, he earned his bachelor's degree in Commerce from Far Eastern University. He retired from the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He was a former president of CFAC and former director of Hiyas Min Cultural Society.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita; son, Sonny Ledda and his wife, Beth of Laurens, SC; two grandchildren, Hagan and Emily Kate; nephew, Reggie and nieces, Marites and Margie.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Conrado Ledda and Norma Ledda.
