P.O. Mead

P.O. Mead III, 68, of Charleston, SC, husband of Patricia K. Mead entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 19, 2017. His funeral service will be held Friday, September 22 in First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29401 at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the foyer of the sanctuary. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

P.O. was born February 16, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Margaret Isaacs Mead and the late Percy Orian Mead, Jr. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. P.O. was a deacon at First Baptist Church and served as President and Treasurer. P.O. was a past president of Happy Days and Special Times. He was founder and owner of Mead's Tree Service, Inc. P.O.'s dedication to his clients and their trees lasted for over 45 years. The family wishes to thank all of his employees especially David Schneider who was his loyal employee and friend for 40 years.

P. O. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat Mead of Charleston, SC; his mother, Margaret Isaacs Mead; daughter, Margaret Mead Jackson (Wayne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, P.O. Mead IV (Ashley) of Awendaw, SC; two sisters: Barbara Cheryl Mead and Carol Mead Koopman (Billy) both of Charleston, SC; brother, Robert Markley Mead (Louisa) of Moncks Corner, SC; and three grandchildren: Madison Leigh Mead, Emily Elizabeth Jackson and Sarah Mead Jackson.
