Pinckney B. Bailey

January 4, 1916 — July 18, 2010

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 18, 2010, Pinckney B. Bailey, beloved wife of William Robert Bailey for 72 � years.  She resided in Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Bailey are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter at St. James Episcopal Church, James Island, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at eleven o'clock.  Interment will be in the churchyard.  Family will receive friends at a reception in the Church Ministry Center following the service.


Mrs. Bailey was born January 4, 1916 on Edisto Island, SC, the daughter of Edward Malcolmson Bailey and Mary Pinckney Beckett Bailey.  She was a 1937 graduate of the College of Charleston and taught in the Charleston County School System for 22 years.  She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church on James Island for over 50 years.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Society, South Carolina Educational Association, and the National Education Association.  


She is survived by her husband of Charleston; three daughters, Mary B. King of Charleston, Ann B. King of Little Oak Island, Folly Beach and Trudy B. Sease (Earl) of Yonges Island, SC; four grandchildren, Trey King (Lydia), Anna Bailes (John), Les Sease (Tammy) and Suzanne Roberts (Travis); ten great grandchildren, Glynn, Alden and Bailey King, Noah, Dylan and Drew Bailes, Annmarie and Matthew Sease and Brandon and Logan Roberts; and a brother, Edward Legare Bailey of Fort Walton Beach, FL.  She was predeceased by her two sisters, Minnie B. Bernthiesel and Alice B. Stevens.
