Phillip Jeffrey Bishop, 55, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 30, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:00 a.m. Burial services will be held in Peniel Baptist Churchyard, Islandton, SC., at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Phillip was born August 6, 1960 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Jasper Junior Bishop and Beulah Caddin Bishop. He was a grounds keeper for Kiawah Island and worked at The Charleston Navy Shipyard in the Boiler Shop for 17 years. He was also a member of ATCO Hunting Club for many years.
He is survived by his brother, Jasper Norris Bishop (Ethel) of Johns Island, SC; sister, Rhonda Schmidt (Bill) of Charleston, SC; one niece and two nephews, Will and Jenna Schmidt and J.J. Bishop; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
