Philip Edward Shelly, 86, of Meggett, South Carolina, widower of Belva Jane Mundt Shelly, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 24, 2012. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at J. HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Charleston. A memorial and burial service will be conducted in San Bernardino, California at a later date.

Mr. Shelly was born on December 25, 1925 in San Bernardino, California, son of the late Joseph E. and Nina McCammon Shelly. He was a retired Physical Therapist, a graduate of the University of Southern California and an avid Trojan fan. He was also a former member of the Hollywood Rotary Club. Philip served his country in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Olin and husband Bob of Meggett, SC; two grandchildren, Dr. Shelly Jane Olin-Meeks and Sydney Olin Haskett. He was preceded in death by a son David Edward Shelly and a sister Betty Howe.
