Peter John Scala

Peter John Scala, 86, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Patricia Ellen Buckley entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 2, 2023. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd., N. Charleston. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery.

Peter was born May 8, 1937 in New York City, NY, son of the late John and Elizabeth Scala.  He was a professional engineer in Civil Service and entered the Peace Corp in Tanzania. While in Angola he became a Surrealist Artist. Upon returning to the United States in 2011 he became a full time artist in the Charleston area. He enjoyed his visits to art galleries, classical music and concerts. 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Buckley of Goose Creek, SC; children, Michelle Scala of Roanoke, VA and Victor Scala of New York; granddaughter, Emma Scala of New York; and a brother, Julian Scala of Ontario, Canada.
