Persefoni "Penny" Misoyianis

Persefoni (Penny) Misoyianis (61) of Charleston, SC passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2026 at her home in Hollywood, SC. Born on September 7, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Apostol) Misoyianis and John G. Misoyianis. 

Penny attended St Andrews High School (class of 1983) and the College of Charleston (class of 1987). In her younger days Penny was very athletic, playing volleyball in high school and sailing in College. Penny was on the College of Charleston team that won the ICSA National Championship Co-Ed dinghy class in 1986. Penny was a passionate animal lover. She lived with her Old English Sheepdog, Enki and he was her fourth English Sheepdog over a span of 20+ years. Penny will be remembered for her quirky and funny personality, her love of the Lowcountry, rivers and marshes and dogs (animals).

Penny is survived by her brother George J. Misoyianis, her sister in law, Debbie Misoyianis, her nephew, John G. Misoyianis (Dominique), great-grandniece, Molly and many cousins and childhood friends. We will miss her.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 12:00-12:30 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the funeral will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary in Hollywood, SC, or the animal welfare organization of your choice, would be appreciated.
