Peggy Moore Malone

Peggy Moore Malone, 94, of James Island widow of Jack E. Malone, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 6, 2023. Her graveside service will be held Saturday, October 14 at 1:00, p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery 604 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, SC. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. 


Peggy was born March 5, 1929 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Calvin and Ethel Moore. Peggy graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended college at North Greenville. Peggy went to work as a telephone operator with Southern Bell where she met her husband, Jack. They married on January 1, 1954. Besides raising her three children, Peggy enjoyed reading a vast array of topics including, history, theology and philosophy. She appreciated poetry, art and music. But most of all, she loved her family unconditionally. 


She is survived by her three children, Jan M. Carson (Danny), Tim C. Malone (Cindy) of James Island and Jay E. Malone (Pam) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and eight grandchildren: Dan Carson (Stephanie), Josh Carson (Stephanie Jo), Jason Malone (Olivia Takats), Aaron Corey Malone, Kyle Malone, Hannah Elliott (Joseph), Hayley McDonald (Parker) and Noah Malone; and four great-grandchildren: Rivers, Miles, Mary Daniel and Abigail. 


We would like to thank all the caregivers who took special care of Mom this past year, and especially Amedisys Hospice nurses, Amber and Ashley, who cared for Mom in her final days.
