Peggy L. Lefever, 78, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, widow of Christian "Smoke" Lefever died Thursday, March 10, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 14, 2016 in Plantation Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3345 South Live Oak Drive at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Peggy was born September 26, 1937 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Henry D. Stewart and the late Lydia Elizabeth Smith Stewart. Peggy lived in South Carolina for the past 35 years. She held many jobs and was considered a jack of all trades.
Peggy had four children with her first husband, the late Kenneth "Bing" R. Rankin.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie L. Dyckmans (John) of Moncks Corner, SC, son, Kenneth Raymond Rankin (Cindy), of Topeka, KS, step-son, Dennis Lefever (June) and their family of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Peggy Bronaugh Lehman (Kevin) of Dandridge, TN, Jessica Lynn Rankin, and Kenneth Cody Rankin; three great-grandchildren, Marydeary Bronough Lehman, Cianan Bronough Lehman, and Coleman Bronaugh Lehman; a beloved sister, Nancy Turner and her daughter Yvonne "Sissy" Bletz, of Lancaster, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Mary Ann Rankin, and her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tony Rowe of Goose Creek, SC.
She was preceded in death by two children who died shortly after birth, Kenneth Robert Rankin, Jr. and John Lane Rankin; as well as many of her siblings.
