Peggy was born on October 23, 1942 in Fayetteville, NC, the daughter of William T. Croom and Lillian McLaurin Croom. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and obtained two Master Degree's in Education. She was a retired Guidance Director at Laing Middle School and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross.

She is survived by two daughters: Jennifer B. (Edward) Parker of Summerville, SC and Stuart B. (Monty) Foss of Camden, SC; four grandsons: Adam, Gavin, Jasper and Guerin; and one brother: William T. Croom, Jr. of Myrtle, Beach, SC.
