Peggie A. Potter

Peggie A. Potter, 77, of Goose Creek, SC, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, peacefully at home.

Born September 23, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC, she was one of 13 children of Charles Abernathy and Quinnie Mae Seal Abernathy.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Goose Creek.

Mrs. Potter is survived by her sons, Dwight "Bob" Potter and his wife, Laura Johnson of Iva, SC and Milton "Butch" Potter and his wife Paula of Trenton, SC; daughters: Kathy Austin and her husband, Clyde Austin, Sr. of Goose Creek, SC, Denise Port and her husband Eugene of St. George, SC and Patsy Steerman of Goose Creek, SC; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Jodie Quintero and her husband Paul of Idaho; brother, Douglas Abernathy and his wife Doris of Spartanburg, SC; her soul mate, James "Pop" Stringer of Goose Creek, SC and his daughter, Debra Hall and her husband, Louis and his son James E. Stringer Jr. and his wife Arlene all of Moncks Corner, SC; and her baby, Precious, her Daschund.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Milton R. Potter.   

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM.  Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Wednesday, May 4, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
