Pearl Altman, 94, of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, widow of James Manning Altman died Friday, September 6, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Pearl was born March 15, 1919 in Blakelys, South Carolina, daughter of the late Willie Nathaniel Cooper and the late Rebecca Cooper. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, James Island SC.
She is survived by her daughters: Brenda Tumbleston of Charleston, SC, Sally Altman of Mount Pleasant, SC and Nina Epps and her husband, Scott, of Wadmalaw Island, SC; her sister; Adele Rogerson of Georgetown, SC; her grandsons: Jerry Tumbleston Jr., Clint Tumbleston and Teddy Finnerty; her granddaughters: Paula Hopton, Sherri Simonin and Vickie Arbogast; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Gert Bodiford and Ruby Mae McGorty; her brothers: Benjamin Cooper and William Cooper; and a great-grandson, David Bianchi.
