Paul Robeson Stewart, 78, of North Charleston, SC husband of Della Mae Gibbs Stewart, died peacefully at home Friday, November 11, 2011,

Born August 14, 1933 in South Bend, IN he was one of four children of Benjamin Franklin Stewart and Willie Mae Oliver Stewart and a US Navy veteran. Mr. Stewart was a tax accountant and formerly employed as the Manager for local and state sales taxes with Beatrice, now known as ConAgra. Later he operated his own accounting firm, Paul Stewart LLC and was an officer on the Board of the Chicago Tax Club. He was a Red Cross volunteer where he served as President of the RSVP program.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 52 years, Della Stewart of North Charleston, SC; son, Brett D. Stewart and his wife Heidi of Durham, NC; grandson, Sterling; sister, Wilma S. Frazier of Chicago, IL; brother, Benjamin Vernon Stewart and his wife Mary of Tinton Falls, NJ; sister-in-law, Elaine Stewart of South Bend, IN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Stewart.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 between 2 and 4 pm concluding with a prayer service and military honors in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL 2180 Greenridge Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Red Cross, Lowcountry Chapter of SC, 8085 Rivers Avenue, Suite F, Charleston, SC 29406.

The family would like to thank the doctor's, nurses and many friends who have supported them and been so gracious to them during this time.
