Paul Michael McCurry, 65, of Charleston, South Carolina, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018. A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in Bee Log, North Carolina at a later date. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to the service.
Paul was born November 2, 1952 in Port Angeles, Washington, son of the late Cecil McCurry and the late Carole Beti Marler McCurry. He graduated from Zachary High School in Zachary, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University. He entered the United States Navy in 1972 as an electrician and served in the Naval Reserves from 1978 to 1980. He then joined the United States Air Force Reserves and retired as a Tech. Sergeant in 1997. Paul retired from Kapstone Paper as an electrician in 2017 after 28 years. He was also a realtor with The Agent Owned Realty Company from 1997 until the present and was a member of the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by two children, Daniel McCurry (Megan) of Charleston, SC and Angela McCurry May (Jaeson) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers Doug McCurry (Christie) of Zachary, LA, Joel McCurry (Eugenie) of Centreville, MS and one sister, Amy Johnson (Johnny) of Dallas, TX; and two grandsons, Maeson May and Aeden May.
